James has worked in sales, lettings and new homes for over 40 years, mainly in and around Islington, Highbury and the surrounding areas. He also has experience of property auctions, property development and investment, shared ownership, and block and property management. James’ family roots go back to James Neilson Estate Agents, established in 1889 (not by him personally as some may think but a relative with the same name!), so you could say agency is in his blood. As his family has included building surveyors, auctioneers, land agents and chartered architects, as well as estate agents, he didn’t stand a chance of a career outside of property. James is married to his long-suffering wife Dian and is the father of three boys, the eldest of whom just finished at Chelsea School of Art with a first and now at Christchurch starting a PG in teaching. James is a keen cyclist and has shared this love across many good causes by donating bicycles to charity auctions across Islington. James is proud to have supported several local charities, schools and other good causes over the years. James started his career in agency at the UK’s largest corporate agency in 1983, before joining Currell in Islington in 2000. James spent 19 years at Currell, running its flagship office in Upper Street and helping drive it to its position as one of Islington’s premier agents. During his time at Currell, James helped sell some of Islington’s most prestigious residential properties, including hundreds of the area’s fine Georgian and Victorian homes. James is a fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).

Graham is originally from Carlisle, and his passion for property was first shown when he became an avid fan of the Cumberland News property section when he was a young boy. He can still recall waiting for the newspaper every Friday, discarding the other sections and heading straight to the property section. Graham’s interest in property stems from his fascination with the architecture of different eras. He particularly loves the grand proportions, symmetrical rooms and curved windows of Georgian architecture, the high ceilings, large windows and beautiful cornicing of Victorian properties, and the wooden porches, inviting hallways and parquet flooring of the short-lived Edwardian era. Graham is delighted to see the surge in popularity of some of the designs from the Sixties and Seventies, such as the iconic brutalist design of the Barbican. When he is not working, he enjoys watching inspiring TV programmes such as Grand Designs, and witnessing new property masterpieces being built. Graham’s other hobbies and interests include taking his much-loved labradoodle Kiki out for long walks, hitting his local gym in East Dulwich, adding to his collection of trainers and shoes, reading, theatre and whenever possible going off seeking new countries and cultures. With Graham’s mother and father also involved in property, it was written in the stars that he too would have a career in the property world. He moved down to London after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University and embarked on an estate agency career in 2004. Graham has worked in some challenging markets over the years, yet still held a strong track record in gaining more market share through excellent customer service. Graham has worked in several locations since starting his career in estate agency in East Dulwich including Peckham Rye, Kennington, Clerkenwell and Islington. He has never looked back since and is proud to have been involved in some of the largest sales in the Islington area.

Adam has over twenty seven years agency experience throughout Islington, Highbury and Bloomsbury. Having worked most recently as a Director with Savills in Upper St and prior to that, the large independent agent, Holden Matthews, he has brought to the market and sold some of the most impressive and expensive houses in the borough, achieving some outstanding prices for his vendors. Adam has seen the market change over time, giving a deeper understanding of what price a property can achieve. He’s able to offer you information about what local buyers are looking for, as well as share his knowledge with the team and potential buyers during viewings and finding a property that suits a buyer’s needs, possibly more acutely than a corporate agent who moves around a lot and is relatively new to the area.

She loves to be stroked, so please drop in to say hello – you’ll be guaranteed a friendly welcome and a wagging tail!
